Healthy Smiles Worker Debbie Caldwell Hi everyone, I'm Debbie Caldwell. I'm from Casino, but did most of my growing up in Tabulam where I went to school and then on to Bonalbo High. I then moved to Kyogle and lived there for 15 years and finished my schooling. I then went to the Catholic University in Sydney for 4 years where I did my Associate Degree in teaching. Now I'm at Dharah Gibinj, I worked for 7 years in reception, and now I am a Female Health Worker which I enjoy. My goal is to see the health of Aboriginal people improve. slides/debbie1.jpg sherylcrop slides/sherylcrop.html Fri, 28 Nov 2008 15:05:13 +1100 Jalbum 8.0 Aboriginal Female Health Worker Sheryl McNamara born in Cairns NTH QLD did my schooling there, met my husband Gary travelled for a while. Before being employed at Dharah Gibinj Medical Service, I served at the Coraki Campbell Hospital for about seven years as a Board Member. I was the first (Goorie) Aboriginal person to hold such a position in the Richmond-River area, then the State Government at that time demolished all local Hospital Boards in New South Wales. I also served at the Kurrachee Aboriginal Co-op in Coraki for about 27 years as a Board Member. I also managed the Aboriginal Arts and Craffs retail Centre at New Italy for about 8 years prior to working at the A.M.S. At the moment my position is Aboriginal Male Health Worker, I work in the team running the Healthy Food Awareness Program and assist with health checks and other duties at the AMS. In all honesty this service is the best place I've ever worked in. It offers vast learning opportunities. Speciality areas - virus and spyware removal, but I enjoy all the challenges that come with IT. Best thing about my job - being able to provide a platform, from where my colleagues can help improve peoples health and save lives.
